The West Bend 56870 10-Cup Drip Coffeemaker is an economical, yet fully functional machine with features you’d expect to see on higher-priced models. This unit is designed in black with silver accents. The plastic exterior surface has a matte finish to hide fingerprints and also stays cool to the touch during use.
West Bend 56870 Coffee Maker Specifications:

West Bend 56870 has a control panel consists of four pushbutton controls for on/off, program, hour and min. The on/off button starts the brewing cycle immediately and the program button lets you preset the brewing to begin at a later time up to 24 hours in advance. A red indicator light illuminates while brewing is in progress and stays lit during the keep warm cycle that follows. A yellow indicator light signals when the program mode has been activated.
The height of this coffeemaker may be a problem if you have low cabinet clearance. To fill the reservoir and add coffee grounds, you need to lift the top, which adds another 6 inches to the height. You can pull the machine forward on your counter during brewing and thus gain the required height by positioning the unit in front, instead of placing it under the cabinets. In fact, the forward position is ideal for brewing so that any steam dodging through the top vent holes won’t damage the finish on your cabinets.
Other features that work well include the smooth-pouring glass carafe, removable permanent cone-shaped mesh filter and basket, and clear water reservoir with easy-to-see fill-level markings.
The West Bend 56870 brews a full pot of coffee in about 10-12 minutes. This unit also has a pause-’n-serve feature that allows you to sneak a cup before the brew cycle has finished. There’s just one that’s not so great about this coffee machine, it is a bit noisier than others in its category. Once the brew cycle has completed the keep warm mode is practically silent.
