Black & Decker came up with SpaceMaker™ Products which basically free your countertops from clutter. These products are designed to save you a lot of space in your kitchen. One of these products is the SDC850 Spacemaker Thermal Coffeemaker. The Black & Decker SDC850 Spacemaker Coffeemaker has an 8-cup thermal carafe and features Save-A-Plug Outlet which power 4 Spacemaker appliances with only 2 wall outlets.
At least two of the mounting holes are same as current coffee maker, allowing for an easy upgrade. The Cord Management feature allows you to neatly store power cord at the back of the unit while plugged in.
The Spacemaker also has a unique function that allows you to extract a cup of coffee without removing the entire pot. This feature is the Sneak-A-Cup ®, it allows the machine to pause so you can take out a cup while the coffee continues to brew.
The digital timer/clock lets you program the coffeemaker so that it can brew coffee anytime you want. A nice bright blue LED lets you know it is brewing. Cleaning is also a breeze. Just run it through some solution and water to remove the mineral deposits.
This might sound the perfect coffee machine that you are looking to have but there are a few issues that some customers were unhappy about. First off, a number of customers were very frustrated with the installation. Screws were either too short or too long. They had to cut the long ones down just to make them work.
As nice as it looks, some parts of the machine is made of plastic and th
ey easily break when you accidentally drop them in the sink while washing. Customers wished Black & Decker made them sturdy.
Another issue is the leaking coffee pot. For some reason, the coffee pot leaks between the plastic and stainless steel part.
