Cuisinart DGB-700BC Grind & Brew 12-Cup Automatic Coffeemaker w/ Decalcifier is a fully programmable coffeemaker with a burr grinder for superior coffee.  The special burr grinder grinds the coffee without influencing the integrity of the bean, so the true flavor is maintained.  The sealable bean hopper holds up to a half-pound of beans, and the strength selector and the grind control functions fine-tune intensity and volume.

Cuisinart DGB-700 Specifications:

  • Color: Brushed chrome and black
  • Capacity: 12 cups
  • Height: 16.25 inches
  • Length: 8.44 inches
  • Depth: 10.66 inches
  • Weight: 11.9 lbs.
  • Warranty: 3-year limited

You can easily brew 12 cups of coffee with the fully programmable feature of Cuisinart Grind and Brew Coffeemaker.  The unit has a built-in burr grinder which automatically grinds beans right before brewing, and its grind-control function makes it easy to program the amount of coffee to grind from 2 to 12 cups. Its strength selector feature allows you to choose from strong, medium, or mild coffee.

Additional features are adjustable automatic shutoff (from zero to four hours), a grind-off option, and an integrated 2- to 4-cup feature, as well as a Gold tone commercial-style permanent filter and charcoal water filter to remove impurities, and a brew-pause function for sneaking a cup midbrew.  The warming plate works well and defaults to a 2-hour delay before shutoff. Keeps the coffee good and hot.

Some customers had issues with the coarse grinding.  Since the grind is coarse, you need to double the amount of the coffee beans.  Increase in bean consumption means spending more money.

Another issue would be the design of the carafe.  The spout is too small and you can barely get a stream of coffee coming out.  It takes quite a while to fill up a cup of coffee.  To make things worse, you have to take the lid off the carafe to get the last remaining cup of coffee.

The filter hopper pops open occasionally during the brewing cycle and hot water bursts all over the counter.
